How to use wrist tape

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by compression of the median nerve. The carpal tunnel is a narrow passage on the palm side of the hand surrounded by bones and ligaments. Compression of the median nerve may cause symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and weakness in the hands and arms.

Anything that squeezes or irritates the median nerve in the carpal tunnel space may lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. A wrist fracture can narrow the carpal tunnel and irritate the nerve, as can the swelling and inflammation caused by rheumatoid arthritis. Wrist tape can relieve the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Symptom – Weakness in the hands

You may feel like you lack strength and control in your grip. This can be caused by persistent numbness or weakness of the thumb muscles responsible for pinching motions. The compressed median nerve controls these muscles. The lack of strength makes it difficult to hold objects firmly.

Symptom – Numbness and tingling

You may feel tingling, numbness, or an electric shock-like sensation in your thumb, index finger, middle finger, and thumb side of your ring finger. The little finger is typically unaffected.

Main Function

1. Provides support and stability.
2. Reduce irritation and compression of nerves.
